Journaling about my kids (plural- wow!) for me; updates on our life for our wide circle of loved ones is for, well, our loved ones; sharing about life with a spunky toddler and the emotional highs and lows of having a wonderful baby with Down Syndrome is for anyone who might be on a similar journey.

#ChefLiam

Liam has always wanted to do what his Papa does, but with Pedro starting a taco catering business (Corazon 805 Tacos) and Liam's affection for Chencho, Pedro's business partner, his desire to be a chef has risen to a new level!

We are starting to make cooking videos at home because of this new found love, and because...cooking! It covers EVERYTHING you could want to teach a  child: reading and writing recipes and shopping lists, measuring (math, duh), chemistry, following directions, independence, the 5 senses, and the list  goes on.
A few weeks ago we had no childcare help on a Friday afternoon and we thought, maybe Liam would like to go help at the brewery where Pedro sells tacos every Friday... I asked Liam and he closed his Chromebook with lightening speed, and grabbed his apron and chef hat (thanks for those Susi!)
When I showed up 3 hours later, thinking it was a long time and he'd be really ready to go, he was following his papa to the tables giving out napkins and then standing behind the order counter with his arms crossed like a boss.   He gave me just a touch of cool dude attitude, as if to say, "Don't worry about me mom, I'm doing just fine here at work.  I got this!"
